Leopard Pre-release build 9A321 was seeded to developers December 2006, it builds upon build 9A303 which was the last build released to developers. New features that appeared in this build include a new Mac OS installer application, enhanced parental controls, support for Sun's ZFS disk format, a new Quick Look feature to view files without launching Preview or QuickTime Player. Just to name a few.
Some reports online refer to this build as being quite unstable with even System Preferences and System Profiler crashing randomly. The tester informed me that none of these problems were found, however some operations are not functional yet. Most notable is formatting ZFS volumes fails and Time Machine having trouble creating backup sets.
This is the first screen you're greeted with after the installer's opening video.
Clicking 'Show More Information' will transform the box into the fill readme file.
Pretty standard license agreement for a pre-release.
As you can see here the default installation takes up 7.8 GB of space. Ouch.
A new option to remove previous system folders has been added.
The final stage before installation. Unless you customize of course.
Not much to customize in this version. As you can see the minimum installation is 4.5 GB.
Just like Windows and
Mac OS 8.2d8 the new installer will show you information about the new features of the OS.
Here's the one for iChat.
I must say I do like the Spaces icon.
Here's the screen for the new parental controls.
Apple System Profiler showing the build information. Darwin being at version 9.0.0d5.

Nicer permissions options for files are a welcome feature.
Leopard's Finder now has a nicer trash can with a built in empty button. Although I think it could use more (like showing how much disk space the files inside are using).

Here you can see Quick Look's full set of buttons with Add to iPhoto selected.
The tester noted Quick Look is still rather buggy when selecting more than one item for viewing and was quite slow on his test machine when viewing more than one file.

The finder can now display preview icons in any window (I'm told it creates them very quickly, even on a slow G4/400 MHz) and display image info. The image info display doesn't seem to be working here, however I have seen it funtioning in photos on other web sites.
Leopard's save dialogue box now has an icon view option.
As you can see here the save dialogue will also create preview icons for you while browsing.
The icon view has the ability to change the placement of the text (below or on the right) and the icon size. 256 x 256 is shown here.
System Preferences showing the new Parental Control panel.

A new more compact default print box made it into Leopard around build 9A283 can be seen here as unfortunately we here at this site have not gotten a hold of any 9A283 screen shots.
Clicking on the triangle expands the print box to something a little more familiar.
Here you can see the user has chosen print summary and the top portion of the window hasn't changed. The most important settings are always available. Much better than the previous box.
